This map was truly a joy to create, from start to finish. What started out as a small idea suddenly turned into a fully fledged map in about four weeks.

The whole process started out by me wanting to challenge myself. I wanted to find that sweet spot between formalism and realism, and by scouting Google Earth for possible locations to base a map around, I found this small farmhouse about 40 minutes from where I grew up.

Right from the get-go the ideas just started pouring in from left and right, and I immediately got sketching.

Even though this first draft was rough, I already knew what kind of gameplay I wanted for the map. Having an overall close-quarters feeling, I knew I needed some longer distance engagements to mix it up, while also giving the T side more freedom by having a lot of different entry points.

After a good thinker about what I wanted, I began refining the sketch and came up with a design that is a lot closer to how it actually turned out.
